Enrolment & Transition

For your child and family starting school is an exciting time as they begin their first steps on their life long journey in education and beyond.

South Australia now has the same first day of school for all children which is the first day of term one each year. This means that every child is guaranteed four terms of reception before they continue with the rest of their primary schooling. It also means a more stable environment for children throughout the year with less changes to classes.

The current start date is the first day of Term 1 and the current minimum age for beginning school is four years and eight months.

  • If your child turns five before 1 May, they will begin school on the first day of term one in that year.
  • If your child turns five on or after 1 May, they will begin school on the first day of term one the following year.

Enrolment Process

Student/Class Placements

In consultation with staff, the leadership team makes decisions about the number and structure of classes for the forthcoming year. The final decision of class placement rests with the Principal.
